Counsel2 is a satirical concept created for Deceit, an art project about the patterns of manipulation in institutional technology. There is no real church product behind this page. Nothing entered on this site — signup, checkout, or the chat widget — is stored or sent anywhere outside this browser tab.

The pastor takes notes during counseling sessions. the notes are stored. the notes are permanent. the notes are shared with "the pastoral team." the counselee cannot see the notes. the counselee cannot correct the notes. the counselee cannot delete the notes. jake built this because he believes "pastors need records to counsel well." jake didn't think about what happens when the notes are wrong. jake didn't think about what happens when the notes are used against the counselee. jake trusts the pastor's notes. jake trusts all pastors' notes. jake is sincere. jake is wrong.
